The client for this fictitious project is R.E.M, which is one of the first American alternative rock bands established in 1980. R.E.M. is touring across the U.S. performing their top song, “Man on the Moon,” as well as their other classics. I have created marketing materials for this tour, including advertisements and ephemera.
The design challenges were to utilize elements from their song, “Man on the Moon,” to reflect the mood and personality of the song/band and to emphasize typography and limit photography in the design. I achieved this aesthetic by creating typography that mimics the shadows from the moon, incorporating quirky icons from the song, and using a vibrant color against a dark, grunge background.
